1982 MTV "One Year Anniversary" Vintage Tee Shirt

Exceptionally rare original MTV employee tee created to celebrate the network’s first anniversary in August 1982. MTV had launched just one year earlier on August 1, 1981, forever changing the relationship between music, television and youth culture. Featuring a birthday cake graphic and “Happy Birthday MTV!” artwork, these shirts were produced for MTV staff rather than sold commercially. A true piece of early MTV history from the network’s infancy, and a particularly scarce example of pre-mass-market MTV memorabilia.
